About
My journey with Yoga has been on and off for years. I first experienced it at University (and fell asleep during Savasana in the first class). Despite the fact that I noticed benefits from it, I never got past the 6 week beginner course.

I rediscovered it when I was working my way through my belts in Karate, as a means to gain greater flexibility and strength.
My practice was never consistent - working from a book and without a teacher - and then a knee operation completely sidelined me for a good 6 months and I never picked it back up.

In later years, I went through a horrible phase of depression and anxiety and found that some of the breathing methods and meditation were extremely helpful.

I then chose to add the physical movements of practice - mostly to help me stretch out stiff limbs from a combination of being seated all day at the desk job, and a love of running.

Perhaps it was finding a style of Yoga that I really enjoyed, a great teacher, maybe timing, possibly my age, but for whatever reason, this time I completely fell in love with the practice, so much so that I decided to qualify as a teacher myself, completing the course in 2019.

Yoga helps me find balance, it grounds me and helps me find peace and calm in moments of chaos.
It's not just a part of my life. Yoga is life.
